Quack doctor Mugo wa Wairimu due in court

Quack doctor James Mugo Ndichu alias Mugo wa Wairimu is expected to be presented in court on Wednesday following his arrest on  Tuesday evening in Gachie, Kiambu County.

Mugo wa Wairimu, who was being sought by police for running an illegal medical clinic among other offences, has been on the run for about two weeks.

He was arrested by officers from the Flying Squad Unit and locked up at the Pangani Police Station pending arraignment.

The fake gynaecologist had in 2015 been arrested after Citizen TV exposed him for running an illegal clinic and allegedly raping sedated female patients. He was charged in court and released on bail.

Two weeks ago, NTV once again exposed him and his personnel two of whom have since been arrested.

Victor Gathiru Kamunya alias Doctor Victor and Ms Risper Ouma Ogony were arraigned before Milimani Law Courts Magistrate Martha Mutuku on Thursday last week.

They were charged with illegally operating a pharmacy and a medical laboratory without registration and licence from the Kenya Medical Laboratory and Technologists Board.

The court detained them until November 15
