Quiver Lounge shooting: Suspect released on Ksh.5M bail, one of the victims still in ICU

A Nairobi court has granted bail to a man accused of shooting of two police officers and a woman at Quiver’s Lounge in Nairobi.

Dickson Njanja Mararo has been released on a cash bail of Ksh.5 million with an alternative bond of Ksh.10 million.

He is also expected to give one contact person.

Njanja is charged with attempting to cause the death of two police officers Festus Musyoka and Lawrence Muturi and a waitress Felistus Nzisa by shooting them on July 2,2021.

The court also ordered that the accused person should never be issued with a firearm.

The court was told that Musyoka, one of the victim is still in ICU, with his hospital bill now standing at Ksh5.7 million. The other two victims were treated and discharged.

The accused is alleged to have shot and injured the officers following an altercation over a woman.

Through his lawyer Cliff Ombeta, the accused said that once he is out on bail he will try to have the matter settled out of court.

The case will be mentioned on September 30 this year.
