Raiders Steal Cattle In Kapindasum, Baringo

Arabal chief William Koech expressed fears that the attack came barely four days after leaflets were spotted handwritten in Kiswahili warning of an impending attack.

The leaflets warned that the attack would be a revenge mission over the Kapedo security operation carried out by the police and KDF.

The chief said the raiders stole the cattle and headed towards Chepkalacha area in Paka and Karau hills of East Pokot.

A police contingent made up of GSU unit are now in hot pursuit of the raiders.

Local leaders from Arabal led by Major Kimunyan have demanded the immediate resignation of the Baringo County top security over what he claimed was negligence to act on a vital tip.

Baringo South MP Grace Kipchoim has condemned the attack saying the bandits are hiding in Arabal and challenged the security forces to carry out patrols and beef up security in the area.
