Raila alleges mischief in delayed appointment of IEBC officials

The Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) leader, Raila Odinga, has warned that the country is at risk of plunging into chaos if the next year’s General Election will be bungled.

Speaking at a rally in Moi Gardens, Kericho Town, Raila said that President Uhuru Kenyatta ought to give an assurance of free, fair and credible elections instead of just peaceful elections.

Raila urged the government to put in place the necessary measures that would deliver credible elections warning the Jubilee side against rigging the elections.

The former Prime Minister said that Kenyans are tired of bungled elections and would not stand another one in 2017.

He claimed that the Jubilee camp influenced the outcome of the 2013 elections to their favour and said that democracy dictates fairness and transparency in elections.

The opposition leader also read mischief in the delayed appointment of commissioners to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) saying the Jubilee government has a sinister agenda in the delay.
