ODM leader Raila Odinga has appealed to the courts to expedite on any pending matters related to the BBI to allow ample time for the projected June referendum.

The former Prime Minister expressed confidence that the report will have been passed by at least 24 county assemblies by the end of the month.

He compared the proposed referendum to the River Nile, saying that just like the river continually traverses countries to end up at the Mediterannean Sea, the BBI is equally unstoppable.

“BBI itapita wapende wasipende, the ODM and Jubilee in Nairobi have started a movement that is unstoppable, it’s like river Nile from Lake Victoria to Mediterranean Sea,” Raila said.

He was speaking to the media after holding a closed-door meeting with thirty-four members drawn from Jubilee and ODM leaders in Nairobi.

The meeting, reports say, was convened to consolidate forces ahead of the tabling of the BBI motion in the Nairobi County Assembly.

The ODM leader exuded confidence saying they were on top of things in Nairobi- the heartbeat of Kenyan politics.

“Sasa vile ODM and Jubilee county ya Nairobi wameamua kupiga kampeini za BBI pamoja,we must take over Nairobi as we all know Nairobi is the epicenter ya national politics,” Raila added.
