Raila calls on supporters to register as voters
Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga has called on party supporters in Nyanza region to register as voters ahead of the 2017 elections.
Addressing cane farmers in Muhoroni Constituency on Saturday, Odinga appealed to the locals to move with haste and obtain their voters cards in advance to avoid the last minute rush.
He said by obtaining an identification card and voters card, Kenyans will have a chance to decide the direction the country will take.
Odinga revealed that in their meeting with US President Barrack Obama, CORD discussed how the country’s elections are conducted and called for assistance from the United States to prevent malpractices.
He said that the US had vowed to support the country and ensure that proper electoral mechanisms are put in place ahead of the 2017 General Election to ensure transparency in the next polls.
