Raila dismisses repeat poll, says election to happen in 90 days

National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga has dismissed the move by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to postpone elections in parts of Nyanza to Saturday further calling on NASA supporters to boycott the exercise.

In an exclusive interview with Citizen Digital, Raila dismissed Thursday’s presidential election as a sham saying it did not represent majority of Kenyans and urged supporters to maintain peace promising to give a way forward “soon”.

“This is tribal profiling against Luos because voting did not take place in many areas like Kuria and even in Nairobi,” said Raila who was speaking for the first time since the repeat poll.

Odinga asked his supporters not to go to the streets tomorrow (Saturday) to avoid being brutalised by police officers.

He said NASA is warming up for an election which he insists will be held after 90 days after all their grievances within and without the commission are addressed.

The opposition chief said that the coalition has plans that will deal with the current problem facing the country.

He faulted some companies, which he did not name, for being partisan and allegedly being aligned to the Jubilee agenda further threatening to lead a consumer boycott on their products.

The opposition chief insisted that the coalition does not acknowledge the election following disruptions in some parts around the country.
