Raila faults Uhuru for threatening chiefs

NASA flag bearer Raila Odinga has criticized President Uhuru Kenyatta over remarks he made against chiefs said to be campaigning for the opposition.

According to the former prime minister, President Kenyatta’s threats are calculated to intimidate civil servants.

The ODM Party leader further urged public servants to act in the best interest of Kenyans without fear or favour.

“You saw the president threatening chiefs aligned to NASA yesterday. I tell all the chiefs not to worry because we will win come August 8th. I also want to tell chiefs who were sacked that they will return to work,” said Mr. Odinga.

Mr. Odinga accused the Jubilee administration of condoning massive corruption in the government, causing the skyrocketing cost of living that the poor are unable to sustain.

He also noted that while the president was threatening the chiefs, Cabinet Secretaries and other senior public servants have been mobilized to campaign for Jubilee.

On Wednesday, President Kenyatta warned chiefs who are campaigning for the opposition that they risk sacking under his re-elected government.
