Raila holds meeting with Governor Waiguru

ODM Party leader Raila Odinga on Tuesday hosted Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru for a meeting at his office Capitol Hill office in Nairobi.

The two leaders said they held a discussion on “national cohesion and inclusivity.”

Waiguru pointed out that they deliberated “on the spirit of the handshake and it’s intention to move this nation to a better future through the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report.”

“We deliberated on the spirit of the handshake and it’s intention to move this nation to a better future through the BBI. A cohesive Nation and one in harmony can never go wrong,” said Waiguru.

This is not the first time the two leaders, who were previously fierce political enemies, are holding a private meeting.

In November last year, Odinga also hosted Waiguru at his offices in Nairobi where they settled their political differences and buried the hatchet “in the spirit of the handshake.”

It is after that meeting held on November 14, 2018 that Waiguru also dropped a court case in which she had sued Odinga over utterances he made linking her to the loss of millions of shillings during the first National Youth Service (NYS) scandal.
