Raila: Jubilee presiding over mega graft

The Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) leader, Raila Odinga, on Monday, November 7 made a triumphant entry into Uasin Gishu County, the home turf of Deputy President William Ruto, where he urged the members of the Kalenjin community to help him send Jubilee government home for failing to implement its pre-election pledges to Kenyans.

Speaking at Meibeki Trading Centre in Moiben Constituency, Raila accused the Jubilee government of presiding over mega corruption in its administration as Kenyans continue to wallow in poverty and rising unemployment among the women and youth.

The former Prime Minister, who was accompanied by a host of law makers from ODM among them John Mbadi (Suna), Millie Odhiambo (Mbita), Simba Arati (Dagoretti North), and Andrew Toboso (Butere), said the multi-billion shilling scam in the National Youth Service projects and the Eurobond led to loss of billions of shillings.

The government, Raila said, had failed to implement several projects it had promised the citizens during the last general election, key among them the tarmacking of 10,000 kilometres of roads and provision of laptops to all public primary schools within three months in office.

On Saturday, Odinga defended his relentless criticism of the Jubilee administration over graft saying that his intention is to have a corruption-free country that is united and focused on development.

“What I only want is to see the country united as one, nothing else,” said Odinga.
