Raila, Kingi most popular candidates in Kilifi  poll

The opposition leader, Raila Odinga, remains the most popular presidential candidate in Kilifi. According to a recent opinion poll conducted by Trends and Insights for Africa (TIFA) Research firm, Raila leads in popularity at  62% against President Uhuru Kenyatta who runs at 26%.

If elections were to be held today, Raila would topple over Uhuru by a margin of 36%. Another 12% remain undecided.

Kilifi has been a perceived National Super Alliance (NASA) stronghold with the Opposition enjoying a 61% approval rating. Jubilee has a 21% preference. 15% of Kilifi residents remain undecided on which party they should support whereas 3% prefer the remaining parties.

In the gubernatorial contest, Amason Kingi enjoys a 51% approval rating against his closest competitor, Gideon Maitha Mungaro who comes second with a 16% preference.  Former Cabinet Secretary, Kambi Kazungu, comes in third with a 15% approval rating.

Katana Mwinga comes fourth with a 1% approval rating. The opinion poll shows that 18% of voters in Kilifi are undecided on whom to elect as governor.

Stewart Madzayo leads in the senatorial seat with 41% approval followed by Lucas Miatha, who has 12%, Ken Nyale has 10% and Charles Chigiri 2% approval rating.  33% remain undecided whereas 2% prefer other candidates apart from the mentioned ones.

Women rep seat has Getrude Mbeyu as the top preferred candidate with 31% approval, Amina Minyazi 23%, Juliet Riziki 8%, Witness Tsuma 2%, other candidates 2% and 34% undecided.
