Raila meets Ojaamong, Otuoma to tame fallout

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader, Raila Odinga, on Tuesday, April 18, met Busia Governor, Sospeter Ojaamong, and his rival Paul Otuoma to try and seek for consensus after the bungled Busia County ODM nominations for the governor’s seat.

The closed door meeting held at a Nairobi hotel followed demands by Otuoma that he be handed the ODM Busia Governor’s ticket after he claimed victory in the nominations which he alleges were marred by massive irregularities.

Otuoma disputed the outcome of the polls after Ojaamong emerged victorious in the nominations held last Thursday with 92,358 votes against Otuoma’s 63,752 votes.

Sources indicate Otuoma has rejected to take part in the repeat primaries that are slated to take place in Teso North and Teso South Constituencies next week on Tuesday.
