Raila moves to assure free and fair nominations in ODM
ODM leader Raila Odinga on Thursday moved to assure party supporters of an elaborate and credible nomination process for candidates seeking all elective positions.
Speaking when he met parliamentary aspirants from Budalang’i Constituency at Orange House in Nairobi Odinga said ODM will repeat nominations in places where complaints are reported until the right candidate is found.
Odinga said the primaries will commence months before IEBC deadlines for submission of names of candidates to avert a fall-out resulting from chaotic nominations as witnessed in the past.
This, the ODM leader said, is in a bid to ensure free and fair primaries as well as avert last minute nominations of the past that cost the party when unpopular candidates got certificates through short cuts and violence.
While exuding confidence that ODM will form the next government,Raila asked the aspirants and grassroots leaders to fill the vacuum left by incumbent ODM leaders who have defected.
