Raila Odinga asks government to tame debt appetite

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga has called on the government to reduce the rate of borrowing to help cut the cost of debt the country owes which is making life hard for Kenyans.

Mr. Odinga says the country has been borrowing a lot from foreign nations in the name of development but the money ends up in the pockets of a few corrupt individuals.

Speaking at God Bondo village during the burial of former Rangwe MP Prof. Joseph Ouma Muga, Mr. Odinga urged the government to be relentless in recovering public funds and assets stolen from Kenya and deposited in other countries.

The burial ceremony was also attended by Kisumu deputy governor Mathews Owili his Homa Bay counterpart Hamilton Orata, Homa Bay County senator Moses Kajwang’, Homa Bay county MP Gladys Wanga, Rangwe MP Dr. Lilian Gogo, Paul Abuor (Rongo), Ong’odo Were of Kasipul among other former legislators.
