Raila Odinga celebrates 73rd birthday – PHOTOS
Opposition chief Raila Odinga is celebrating his 73rd birthday today (January 7, 2018). He was born on January 7, 1945 in Maseno, Kisumu.
Odinga, son of Kenya’s first Vice-President Jaramogi Oginga Odinga, will be celebrating his birthday in the political field addressing a series of rallies and meetings in the Western Kenya region.
Despite a heavy schedule, Odinga took time to celebrate his birthday with his supporters at the Kakamega Golf Hotel where he was meeting delegates from Western Kenya counties of Trans Nzoia, Bungoma, Busia, Kakamega and Vihiga ahead of his planned swearing-in.
Coming at a time when the opposition is preparing to have Odinga sworn-in as the president, the message on the cake was quite clear: “Happy birthday Mr. President”.
After meeting the delegates, Odinga accompanied by his co-principals Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula will head to Kakamega town where they will address a series their supporters as they launch the People’s Assembly forum in Kakamega.
The National Super Alliance (NASA) opposition coalition is also expected to unveil the ‘Assumption of Office’ committee which will be spearheading preparations for Odinga’s swearing-in on January 30.
Before the planned inauguration of Mr Odinga, the NASA leaders will tour Ukambani, Coast and Nyanza regions to launch the People’s Assembly forums.
