Raila Odinga formally receives Prof Ongeri to ODM

CORD leader Raila Odinga and Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi made a grand entry into Gusii Stadium to receive a number of politicians who defected from Jubilee Party to the opposition.

The defecting leaders, led by veteran politician Prof Sam Ongeri, accused THE Jubilee Government of taking the Gusii Community for a ride and called on the residents to rise against it during the August General Election.

Prof Sam Ongeri said that he has worked for the regime but has noticed that the whole leadership has no development agenda for Kenyans.

The former Education minister declared interest in the Kisii County Senatorial seat, assuring supporters that he would advocate for more money to be channeled to the grassroots.

Raila Odinga and Musalia Mudavadi castigated the Jubilee Government for ignoring the plight of the striking doctors.

Addressing a crowd at Gusii Stadium, the two leaders said the government is not committed to ending the stalemate.

Odinga wondered why the strike has dragged on for so long up to the point where Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Union (KMPDU) officials were sent to jail.

The opposition leader said that the doctors are agitating for a meager amount of money compared to what the deputy president has been using to criss-cross the country.

ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi took a swipe at President Uhuru Kenya for staying mum while his political cronies are mentioned in mega corruption scandals.

He asked Kisii residents to take advantage of the remaining day to register en mass as voters, saying it as the only weapon to send the Jubilee Government home.

Mudavadi expressed confidence in a united opposition under the proposed National Super Alliance (NASA) trouncing the government in the upcoming elections.
