Raila Odinga heads to Zimbabwe for AU duties

Opposition leader Raila Odinga on Sunday left the country for Zimbabwe to open a forum under his newly-acquired role as the African Union High Representative for Infrastructure Development in Africa.

Mr. Odinga, according to a statement sent to newsrooms, will on Monday open a meeting of the Programme for Infrastructure Development in Africa (PIDA) at the Victoria Falls.

“Hon. Odinga will lay out his vision for Project preparation, Resource Mobilisation and Financing Mechanisms for infrastructure development in Africa,” reads the statement sent by Odinga’s spokesperson Dennis Onyango.

“He will also share his thoughts on attainment of smart and Integrated Infrastructure Development, among other matters.”

The former premier will jet back into the country on Monday.
