Raila Odinga holed up in Karen

National Super Alliance (NASA) has maintained that their leader’s ‘swearing-in’ ceremony slated for Tuesday, January 30 remains on course.

A spot check by Citizen Digital however has not given much indication into the whereabouts of NASA leader Raila Odinga.

“We cannot confirm that Mr. Odinga is in his Karen home. If he is indeed at home, then we do expect to see a convoy coming from here (Karen) and proceeding all the way to Uhuru Park, the venue set for the said swearing in ceremony. It has been very quiet, very uneventful; if one did not know that he lives here (Karen), it would be very difficult to tell,” said Citizen Television reporter Wilkista Nyabwa who has been camping outside Odinga’s residence in Karen from 6:30am.

Odinga’s aides have also remained reluctant to give information about his whereabouts even as journalists report minimal activity and no contingent of police officers at his residence.

The situation is the same outside Kalonzo Musyoka’s Karen home, where Citizen TV reporter Mercy Kandie has set camp.

“Security guards ordered us to keep away from Mr. Musyoka’s gate. We are told that Kalonzo Musyoka is in his house with a few members of NASA coalition,” said Ms Kandie.

Meanwhile, NASA supporters continued to make their way to Uhuru Park ahead of Mr. Odinga’s oathing plan.
On Monday, NASA CEO Norman Magaya said the ‘swearing in’ ceremony will take three to five hours.
