Raila Odinga’s car hit by teargas canister
There was drama on Friday afternoon after police fired teargas into a NASA procession that included former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
Mr. Odinga, who had just arrived from a 10-day trip abroad was on his way, escorted by hundreds of his supporters, to Kibera where he was scheduled to address a rally when police blocked the procession on Jogoo Road.
A few minutes later, chaos ensued and police used teargas to disperse the crowd. Our reporters on the ground reported that one of Odinga’s car was hit by a teargas canister.
His white Range Rover was forced to stop as police and his supporters battled it out and people scattered in different directions.
Raila Odinga Junior, tweeted a picture from inside car believed to be the one carrying Odinga showing a shattered windscreen.

Some supporters however were undeterred by the teargas and water cannons as they pelted the police vehicles with stones.
The rioters also burned a police lorry, a matatu and destroyed property.
