Raila outlines four points why Jubilee must be sent home

The opposition, National Super Alliance (NASA), presidential flag bearer, Raila Odinga, on Thursday, June 8 took time to explain to Mombasa residents and to Kenyans why President Uhuru Kenyatta should be voted out in the August 8 General Election.

The former Premier, who was speaking during a rally in Mariakani, Mombasa County, highlighted four key areas where he feels the Jubilee administration has failed Kenyans including the skyrocketing cost of living, massive corruption scandals where taxpayers’ money has been looted, increasing number of unemployed youth and advancing tribalism to a new level evidenced by their public service appointments where two tribes are taking the lion’s share of government jobs.

“There are reasons that warrant President Uhuru to be sent home come August and that is the high cost of living especially the price of Unga since they ascended to power, stealing of public money by top government officials, tribalism and the suffering of the youth in Kenya,” said the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party Leader.

According to Mr. Odinga, the Jubilee government has failed to deliver the numerous pledges that they made to Kenyans, urging Kenyans to vote for what he terms as ‘mabadiliko’.

“Jubilee is saying that it has done a lot for Kenyans. They say they have connected electricity to people, they have built roads. But let me tell them, Jubilee, that they have not done anything to Kenyans because if you initiate projects you don’t need to open a website and tell people what you have done, they will see for themselves,” added Mr. Odinga.

Mombasa Governor and ODM Deputy Party Leader, Ali Hassan Joho, reiterated his stance of a Jubilee’s plot to chock the very backbone of Coastal region economy, Mombasa Port, and establishing Naivasha town as a dry port using the newly-launched Standard Gauge Railway (SGR).

“We know of the plot where goods will be coming from oversees and upon reaching Mombasa they will be loaded directly to the train to be transported to Naivasha where every process of manufacturing and processing will be taking place. This will make coastal people suffer,” said the self-proclaimed Sultan of Mombasa.
