Raila tells off Uhuru for allegedly insulting him

The Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) leader, Raila Odinga, has hit out at President Uhuru Kenyatta over what he terms as derogatory remarks made on Monday, November 28.

Speaking after meeting Maasai leaders at Orange House in Nairobi on Tuesday, November 29, Raila said that the insulting remarks by President Kenyatta cannot solve the ills facing Kenyans.

“Jubilee does not have a solution for Kenyans and that is why they have resorted to insults and derogatory language,” he said.

“Uhuru’s claims that I am out to divide the country along tribal lines are untrue because my resolve to speak out against corruption is aimed at ensuring accountability in government.”

He stated that he does not look down upon any tribe adding that his decision to put the government to task over the Murang’a water project signifies his nationalistic attribute.

“I am dedicated to fight for the rights of Kenyans regardless of their tribal affiliation. Labelling me a noisemaker shows Uhuru’s poor reception t positive criticism.”

We should all unite in creating a country that does not heed to past practices that were put into place by colonialists.”

The CORD’s leaders direct jab at Uhuru is a response the president’s address at a rally in Nyeri on Monday where he accused the Opposition leaders of working to distract the government.

Uhuru claimed that Raila’s recent attacks on government over corruption allegations were insincere as they were only meant to diverting their attention from development agenda.

He claimed that the ODM leader has based his campaign in division and ensuring investors shy away from the country by painting a bleak image.

Raila has in the past month put the government to task over several corruption allegations including alleged loss of Eurobond money, supposed theft at the National Youth Service, apparent faults in the Itare and Muranga water projects and alleged plans by the government to rig the elections through the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
