Raila to blame for countrys stagnation Uhuru

President Uhuru Kenyatta has accused the opposition leader Raila Odinga for the stagnation of the state. Speaking during his tour in Nyeri, the Head of State alleged that Raila was stubborn during former President Mwai Kibaki’s reign and that cost the country a lot in terms of progress.

“I respect the opposition leader but you understand that if it were not for his stubbornness during the coalition government, the country would be very far,” said President Kenyatta.

“If Kibaki was allowed to work after 2007, the country would have undergone serious changes. We wasted the five years that Raila was in government.”

The Head of State stressed that his government had been peaceful and committed to development agenda, something the opposition has been fighting.

“Please, on August 8 do not allow me to share power with him (Raila). He does not have an agenda for the country,” added the President.

“For four years we have had a peaceful government. We have built infrastructure, nearly every home has electricity. Do you want me to spend my time responding to Raila or commissioning projects? I cannot debate with someone who does not have an agenda for this country.”

These allegations come a few moments after Raila told Uhuru that he was in a hurry to complete projects he never minded during his time in office to woe voters. Raila was speaking in a separate rally at Runyenjes in Embu County.

“Uhuru is rushing to initiate development projects which cannot be completed at this point in time,” said Raila.

Barely 12 days to the General Election, President Kenyatta and his team have intensified their campaigns by touring Nyeri, Murang’a, Nandi and Kakamega counties.
