Raila wants Al Ghurair blacklisted from ballot papers printing

The National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate, Raila Odinga, now says that the Dubai-based Al Ghurair Printing Company should be blacklisted and not be given the ballot paper printing tender for the repeat polls.

The Dubai-based printing firm was awarded the tender to print the August 8 General Election ballot papers, with the opposition coalition accusing the firm of colluding with IEBC to print additional and un-conventional ballot papers which they allege were used to rig in Jubilee’s President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Speaking on Sunday, September 3 during a campaign rally in Mathare, the former Prime Minister also maintained that NASA will not accept IEBC as currently constituted to conduct the new polls.

“If Uhuru and Ruto think that Wafula Chebukati, Ezra Chiloba and company will conduct the fresh polls they are dreaming. How can you be sure that they will not steal elections again? How can you task a hyena to take care of goats?” said Mr. Odinga.

Odinga also called for the entire overhaul of the 40,883 Returning Officers in all polling stations arguing that they have been infected by the rot at IEBC further citing the nullification of the August 8 presidential election by the Supreme Court.

The ODM Party leader launched a scathing attack on President Kenyatta and his deputy, William Ruto, for ranting angrily and attacking the Judiciary which invalidated their election win last month, despite them advising NASA to seek legal redress back them.

“Why are they publicly talking angrily and attacking Chief Justice Maraga when they are the ones who told us to go to the courts? Let them respect the Judiciary. We, NASA, will trounce them in the fresh elections and the will of the people will not be subverted this time round,” added Odinga.
