Rally behind Jubilee, Governor Tunai tells Maasai community

Narok governor Samuel Ole Tunai has called on members of the Maasai community to rally behind the Jubilee government ahead of the 2017 polls.

Speaking in Kilgoris Friday, the Narok governor said the Jubilee Party is the only party that has championed the interests of the Maa community, adding that the community stands to benefit if they are inside the government.

With the 2017 polls barely ten months away, leaders from the county of Narok are now urging members of the Maasai community to rally their support behind the newly unveiled Jubilee Party in which President Uhuru Kenyatta will seek re-election in 2017.

Tunai, while attending a women’s fundraiser in Kilgoris, vowed to traverse the region to rally support for the ‘Tuko Pamoja’ slogan, and boost jubilee’s influence in the Maasai land.

On the land question, Tunai told the Kilgoris residents that he will work with national government to ensure the community acquires land title deeds.

Area Member of Parliament Gideon Konchela told off ODM rallies held in the town two days ago, saying the community does not want to be in the opposition after the next general election.

Konchellah, who is currently serving his third term as the Kilgoris legislator, praised the Jubilee government for development projects launched in the county.

Similar sentiments echoed by Narok women representative Soipan Tuya, who accompanied the leaders to Kilgoris.

The leaders further dismissed Cord leader Raila Odinga who was in Narok Friday, accusing him of propagating divisive politics in Maasai land.
