Rape suspect escapes from locked house

There was drama at Kampi ya Moto’s Kasarani estate in Rongai, Nakuru after a suspected serial rapist escaped from a house he had been locked in.

The suspect, who had been locked in one of the house, is said to have attempted to rape a woman and her twins Tuesday morning.

While forcing his way, the man is said to have hit a 70-year old man with a metal bar on the head injuring him.

Speaking at the Kampi ya Moto clinic, the 70-year-old and the 34-year-old mother of two said that the woman raised an alarm after the suspect tried to rape the woman.

According to the woman, identified as Susan Suweti, the suspect had also attempted to rape a 90-year old granny before attacking her.

“Mzee Joakim Losute tried to intervene and managed to get my children out of the house. Unfortunately he was hit on the head by the suspect,” noted Ms Suweti.

Following the commotion that followed the confrontation between the woman and the suspect, the woman said that she overpowered him and locked him in the house but he managed to break the door and escape.

The residents are now accusing police of failing to respond to their calls on time, thus putting their lives in danger.
