Rarieda: Man hacked to death by cousin in family land dispute

A 35 year-old man was hacked to death and his wife seriously injured following disagreements with a family member over land at Kusa village, Rarieda sub-county, on Saturday evening.

According to North Ramba sub-location assistant chief, Maurice Omondi, the deceased – identified as Kevin Oduor – was engaged in a quarrel with his cousin before he (cousin) lost his temper and hacked him to death.

He told Radio Ramogi that the deceased’s wife attempted to rescue him but she was also cut and seriously injured by the assailant who then fled.

The administrator stated that the deceased’s wife sustained severe injuries and was rushed to Lwak Mission Hospital where she is currently undergoing treatment.

The body of the deceased was moved to Madiany sub-county Hospital mortuary awaiting post-mortem.
