Rarieda MP to Introduce Awards for Best CDF Spenders

The new Parliamentary Accounts Committee (PAC) chair revealed the plans to allocate funds for rewarding the best users of CDF which will be based on assessment from the community members.

The legislator challenged the project implementation committees of various CDF funded projects to ensure proper utilisation of their budgets in order to create a positive impact in their respective areas.

He further highlighted the need for prudent utilisation of CDF funds, especially on infrastructure improvement in schools, adding that they now want to open education centers of excellence across the constituency.

Gumbo made the remarks at the constituency office in Aram on Saturday where he disbursed CDF cheques worth Sh6 million under the second tranche of their allocation to help in the completion of various development projects in 15 schools within the constituency.

The lawmaker, who was flanked by the area CDF committee chairman John Obor Otieno, CDF coordinator Samuel Okanda and the fund accounts manager Mr Achar, added that with improved infrastructure, the school should be able to prduce good results.  

The occasion was also attended by Siaya County assembly members Christopher Apiyo Apiyo (South Uyoma), James Odhiambo Munda (West Asembo) and youth representative Walter Okelo among others.
