Re-electing Jubilee is promoting corruption, theft Raila

The National Supper Alliance (NASA) marked its second day of campaigning in the vote-rich Narok County ahead of the August 8, 2017 General Election.

Raila Odinga, the NASA presidential flag bearer and other co-principals focused on marginalization, Maasai land rights, historical injustices and the newly launched manifesto with hope to flip the region into its advantage ahead of the August polls.

Speaking at Ngosuani in Narok West, Raila’s team accused Jubilee of failing to implement the Truth Justice and Reconciliation Commission (TJRC) report that sought to address historical land issues that would help to solve continuous land wrangles in the region.

Raila questioned the ‘private’ ownership of the Maasai Mara Game Reserve, a community resource and accused Deputy President William Ruto and Governor Samuel ole Tunai of conspiring to privatise the park.

“There is Ksh 3 billion from Maasai Mara which is a community resource land but Deputy President William Ruto and the governor have registered a private company to steal from the people,” said Raila.

He promised that when NASA comes to power, it will ‘throw Jubilee out’ and put the management of the reserve under the locals.

Odinga also said that his team will implement the TJRC report to solve historical land injustices in Narok County.

He added that this will see land grievances come to an end and allow his government to establish a compensation scheme that would cushion pastoralists during times of drought.

On the other hand, Jubilee led by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto camped in Embu where they blamed Raila for divisive politics based on tribal lines.

“I blame Raila for divisive politics. He says that once elected some communities will have to go back to where they came from,” said President Kenyatta. “I will ensure that everyone enjoys the right of owning land anywhere in Kenya.”

Raila’s running mate, KalonzoMusyoka, and other co-principals, MusaliaMudavadi, Moses Wetangula and Isaac Ruto also backed Mr. Odinga by reinforcing the need to fully implement devolution through bringing funds and other resources to the local governments. The team promised to eradicate poverty, through free education, and initiate development.

Odinga also dismissed the recent accusations by his opponents Jubilee on hate speech demanding his imprisonment when he touched on land issues affecting the Kajiado residents.

When I was in Kajiado, I told them NASA will eradicate poverty to stop them from selling their land. I never used hate speech; we said we must implement the TJRC report to eliminate poverty,” added Raila.

Raila fought back the Jubilee administration after it claimed that NASA had nothing to offer to Kenyans and was being funded by cartels. He insisted that re-electing Jubilee is continuing with corruption, poverty and bad governance.

“Jubilee has panicked over our manifesto. Re-electing Jubilee means continuing with corruption, poverty and bad governance. Jubilee should mention one corrupt person who is funding us,” said Raila.

The NASA team also toured Olchorro, Narok North and finalized at Narok Stadium in Narok Town where they addressed their supporters asking them for a six piece vote pattern.

On Friday, Mr Odinga will address a rally in Bomet County.
