Red Cross vehicle with search team for missing plane crashes

A Red Cross vehicle ferrying a team that was to join the search for the missing Fly SAX plane has collided with a lorry at Kariamu Town.

11 people have been injured and have been rushed to the JM Memorial Hospital in Ol Kalou.

The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) indicated that the search for the missing plane is ongoing.

This came after phone signals from the two female pilots were traced to Njabini area,

The National Disaster Management Unit (NDMU) said poor weather conditions are posing a challenge to the search and rescue team.

“Foggy weather in the Kinangop zone hampered search efforts but we will update you once we receive more detailed information,” NDMU Deputy Director Pius Masai told journalists.

The aircraft that had ten people onboard was enroute to Nairobi from Kitale on Tuesday.

It went off radar at 5:20pm, the same time it was scheduled to land at Wilson Airport.
