Reform or we expel you, ODM tells rebels

Migori County ODM party officials have warned party rebels to reform or be forced out.

Party chairman Philip Makabongo and his secretary Mr. Joseph Olala said the party’s county disciplinary committee has already recommended a number of members including some elected officials for expulsion.

Mr. Makabongo said the party has rules and regulations so anybody who defies party orders should leave for a party of his/her choice.

He claimed that the tussle among ODM party members in Migori is to blame for the chronic political violence experience every election cycle. Only way for this to stop, he claimed, is by expelling the rebels from the party.

His sentiment were echoed by Mr. Joseph Olala who has appealed to IEBC and police to take punitive action against individuals arrested during the North Kadem ward by-election.

He said jailing those found guilty of breaching electoral rules will set a good example to masterminds of political violence.

The ODM party leaders have appealed for peace during the Migori senatorial by-election campaign saying that they want to see a contest of ideas and not physical fight.
