Reject Jubilee enticements, Raila Odinga to Western Kenya

ODM leader Raila Odinga has called on Western region to reject overtures by Jubilee aimed at swaying the electorate ahead of 2017 polls.

Addressing ODM delegates from Vihiga County in Vihiga on Monday, Raila accused Jubilee of bribing a section of leaders in Western with a bid to cause cracks in ODM.

He alleged that Jubilee is using fraudulently acquired money to bribe ODM leaders to join them saying their scheme will not succeed.

“Just like the devil asked Jesus to worship him in exchange for earthly riches so is Jubilee attempting to lure ODM leaders using corrupt money,” said Raila.

“I urge you to be firm and reject such overtures and support the party.”

Raila who is on a five-day tour of Western region also accused the government of neglecting the region saying most of the pledges made during the campaign period were only political.

He said that ODM would strive to improve the living standards of Kenyans if they win the 2017 elections.

“I would like to assure you that unlike Jubilee, we are focused on improving the lives of Kenyans,” he said.

“You will see tremendous changes development-wise in our first year in office.”

Raila further faulted Jubilee for stalling some of the projects he initiated during his time as Prime Minister including Vision 2030, saying the government has failed Kenyans.
