Relief Food Urgently Needed In Pokot.

Speaking at Chepkobe centre, Pokot South Member of Parliament David Pkosing said the residents are starving due to a total crop failure that was experienced in the region during the previous planting season.

Pkosing added that during last year’s dry spell season, animals migrated to Uganda in search of water and pasture

During that season, more than 1,000 animals succumbed to a strange disease.

The residents said they do not have any food at the moment as most of their livestock had died

Some of the affected areas are Chepkobe, Shalpough, Senetwo and Batei lacations.

They asked the government to continuously supply relief food until the onset of rains in May this year.

Pkosing blamed the Ministry of Livestock of failing to release any report about the disease that killed over 1,000 animals from his constituency.
