Residents block road to protest over cemetery for the rich plan
Transport was paralyzed on the Nairobi-Naivasha highway following protests at Soko Mjinga area over proposal to establish a private cemetery for the rich at Kinale area.
The residents who blocked the road said that they will not allow the private developer to establish a cemetery in the area.
This comes after the County Government approved plans by Investors including private equity firms to put up an 800 million shillings cemetery targeting the fabulously rich.
Construction of the Gates of Pearl cemetery project is expected to kick off next year and will be located next to Kinale Forest.
