Residents protest poor state of roads in Nairobi’s Fedha Estate

Residents of Fedha Estate in Nairobi took to the streets on Monday to protest over the poor state of the Fedha–Nyayo Road.

According to the residents the dilapidated road in the area has led to a rise in accidents, insecurity as well as huge losses to business operators.

During the demonstrations, the residents lit tyres and bonfires, paralysing transport along the busy Outering road.

The situation caused a heavy traffic snarl up, with commuters being forced to use alternative roads.

The protestors called upon the county government of Nairobi led by Governor Mike Sonko and the Kenya National Highways Authority (KENHA) to repair the roads which are in a poor state, with a lot of potholes.
