Rift Valley leaders vow support for Uhuru in 2017

Leaders from Rift Valley have vowed to support President Uhuru Kenyatta’s 2017 re-election bid.

Speaking at Kericho’s Jamia Mosque grounds during the Idd ul Fitr celebrations on Saturday, former Roads Minister Franklyn Bett and Kapcheboywa MCA Joel Siele criticised a section of leaders in the region of inciting the public against the government.

The leaders said the current wrangles in the region are politically instigated adding that the region will fully support Uhuru come 2017, and Ruto in his 2022 presidential bid.

Siele accused “Jubilee rebels” of being impatient with the government, adding that there is need to give Uhuru and Ruto time to serve Kenyans.

Bett vowed to support Jubilee Government saying his time in the opposition proved non-beneficial.

Other leaders present at the function include Kericho Deputy Governor Susan Kikwai, county executives, youth leaders and Muslim Imams.
