Rift Valley MPs Vow To Pass Security Bill

The lawmakers said that the current high insecurity being faced in the country will best be addressed by the radical bill.

They said that loopholes in the country’s security structures will only be improved if the bill is implemented immediately.

The MPs were speaking during a cultural event at Salabani Primary School in Baringo County.

Present at the event were Baringo South Mp Grace Kipchoim, Ainamoi’s Benjamin Lang'at and Mathew Lempurkel of Laikipia North who argued that if the bill is passed it will curb insecurity.

Baringo South Mp Grace Kipchoim said that the proposed law will also tackle rising banditry in the country.

The Mps further downplayed claims by opposition leaders who termed the bill as draconian.
