RMS Chairman Sets Record Straight on Broadcasts License

Royal Media Services chairman Dr. SK. Macharia today moved to set the record straight that the company did not acquire its TV and radio broadcasting license through corrupt means as implied by Supreme Court judge Mohammed Ibrahim’s statement during Monday’s digital migration ruling. Dr. Macharia says the company’ acquired its licenses through a legal process that culminated in an order committing the then information minister Johnstone Makau and former Attorney General Amos Wako to six months in jail for refusal to issue the licenses. Sylvia Chebet puts this story to perspective.
