Robbery with violence suspect shot dead in Kangemi, two others escape

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Friday shot and killed a robbery with violence suspect in Kangemi, Nairobi.

The deceased is suspected to have been part of a three-man gang that robbed a 61-year-old man at gunpoint on Tendy drive in Lavington on May 6, 2020.

The detectives, acting on intelligence, trailed the vehicle said to have been used by the robbers – a Toyota Probox – to Malenga Road near Mountain View Estate in Kangemi.

They reportedly intercepted the vehicle and ordered the suspects to surrender but they (suspects) instead abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.

One of them however fired at the officers and was shot dead before his firearm was confiscated.

The sleuths are presently hunting down the remaining two suspects.
