Rogue Hyena Captured By KWS Officers

The hyena was captured at Nakuru GK prison farm on Thursday night after officers from Kenya Wildlife Service set a trap following complaints raised by prison authorities.

According to the officer in charge of the prison James Sawe, the hyena had been terrorizing neighbouring residents.  

The hyena is Africa's most common large carnivore.

Although it is reputed to be cowardly and timid, the hyena can be bold and dangerous, attacking animals and humans.

The officer called on members of the public to report any cases of wild animals within their area so that they can be captured before causing harm.

The hyena was taken to Lake Nakuru National Park.
