Ronaldo Donates $7.8m to Nepal after Earthquake
This is the biggest contribution Ronaldo has made to charity this far, having previously sold his 2011 Golden Shoe for 1.5 million Euros and giving the proceeds to benefit children in Gaza .
In 2004 the footballer donated funds to Indonesians in the wake of the country’s tsunami, while in 2014 he paid for a Spanish boy’s life-saving brain operation.
He clearly has an impulse to help others with Forbes rating him as the second-highest paid athlete in the world with an estimated income of USD80 million per annum.
