Rongo teacher arrested with fake KCPE papers

Police in Rongo are holding a teacher at Alfa Academy who was found in possession of fake examination papers near Rongo Primary School.

The suspect, Ken Odongo, reportedly approached a pupil from Rongo Primary School with the KCPE English paper whose authenticity is yet to be established, asking her to buy the papers.

While confirming the incident, Rongo OCPD Kisaka Muganda said the pupil reported the matter to the school administration who then informed the police leading to his arrest.

Muganda said preliminary investigations indicate that the exam papers were fake and that the paper was examined some years back with the suspect having only changed the date and the year of the exam to make it current.

The suspect will now remain in custody awaiting arraignment on Monday.

Meanwhile, the OCPD has cautioned the public to be wary of such individuals saying that such people are only misleading the students.

Muganda further urged the public to report such cases to the relevant authorities so that quick action can be taken.
