Roofs blown away at Kinchororio primary school in Suba South as strong winds hit

Strong winds destroyed four classrooms at Kinchororio Primary school in Gwasi South ward, Suba South constituency on Friday evening.

The winds and heavy rains blew off roofs and destroyed desks as well as other property.

Headteacher Kennedy Odero Matiku and the Board of Management (BOM) chairman Peter Owiso say that the incident has left the school with huge losses amounting to Ksh. 1.2million.

Mr. Matiku said they will be forced to transfer the Grade 4 and Grade 8 pupils to other classes.

No casualty was reported during the incident as the pupils were out for games.

The school management has appealed to political leaders, the Suba South National Government Constituency Development Fund officials and well-wishers to help them repair the damaged property.
