Royal Media journalists elected parliamentary association leaders

Two Royal Media Services journalists have been elected as leaders of the powerful Kenya Parliamentary Journalists Association.

Citizen TV‘s Stephen Letoo was elected the organization’s vice chairperson while Radio Citizen‘s Ruth Njuguna was elected the organizing secretary.

Letoo beat ATG Radio‘s Liz Mutuku, while Ruth garnered 30 votes against her competitors Kevin Wachira of KBC who managed 27 votes.

The Star reporter Gideon Keter retained the chairperson’s seat in the hotly-contested elections after beating The Standard‘s Roselyn Obala for the second time, by one vote.

Keter garnered 29 votes against Obala’s 28 votes.

The People Daily reporter Dinah Ondari clinched the position of secretary-general, and will be deputized by ATG radio journalist Liz Mutuku.

Capital FM’s Laban Wanambisi was elected treasurer in the elections conducted at parliament buildings.

The organization caters for the welfare of Parliament reporters and the patron is the Speaker of the National Assembly Justin Muturi.
