Roysambu traders caught by surprise in overnight demolition
Scores of kiosks were on Sunday night demolished in Nairobi’s Roysambu area as the government continued with demolition of structures standing on land reserves.
Nairobi County government workers descended on the kiosks shortly before midnight, catching the business owners by surprise.
Some of the business owners, while counting their losses, claimed they were not warned of the impending demolitions.
The government has mapped out several areas across the country where it has vowed to remove structures built on road reserves.
Small business people of Roysambu woke up to this, remember 99.9% of these people turned out in large numbers to vote for Jubilee on 26/10/2017. #PunguzaBeiYaMafuta pic.twitter.com/IK3QwVd4yS
