Ruiru: Cops arrest suspect believed to have defiled minor before raping and killing a househelp
Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives based in Ruiru have arrested a 36-year-old Levy Abubakara, a suspect of murder, defilement and rape.
Abubakara is alleged to have committed the heinous crime on October 16 within the Membley Estate, Ruiru sub-county.
CCTV footage accessed by detectives showed Abubakara and others breaking into a residential home.
According to the detectives, the thugs then proceeded to rape a 12-year-old child and the house help.
After the act, they are said to have tied their victims legs with sisal strings before killing the house help by stuffing her mouth with socks and strangling her with a piece of cloth.
The key suspect was arrested alongside two others believed to have been his accomplices.
They are: a 43-year-old Zablon Kariuki Maungu and a 40-year-old David Abungana.
The three are in police custody awaiting their processing and arraignment in court on Wednesday.
