Ruto, Laboso in a neck-and-neck contest in Bomet

Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto and his rival National Assembly Speaker, Joyce Laboso, are tied in a neck and neck contest for the Bomet Governor’s seat.

In a latest opinion poll by Infortrak, Ruto of Chama Cha Mashinani has a slim lead of 38% followed by Laboso of Jubilee Party with 37%.

Dr. Julius Kones who is also eyeing the seat on a Jubilee Party ticket is third with 7%, while 16% of Bomet residents are still undecided.

In Meru, Governor Peter Munya of PNU has taken a lead in the poll with 41%, followed by Kiraitu Murungi of Jubilee Party with 29%, Kilemi Mwiria of Maendeleo Chap Chap follows with 6% while 20% of Meru residents are still undecided.

Infotrak researcher Mary Mburu says a total of 1,350 respondents were interviewed in the polls conducted between 29th of March and 8th of April.
