Ruto: Lamu Attackers Wanted Dead Or Alive

Ruto instructed the Inspector General of Police David Kimaiyo to ensure that the perpetrators are arrested and charged with immediate effect.

“The IG, County Commander and OCPD must get the attackers dead or alive. We cannot condone such acts,” he reiterated.

Ruto was accompanied by Lamu County Governor Issa Timamy, Hussein Dadho of Tana River County, Lamu Senator Abu Chiaba and Women Representative Shakila Abdallah.

While addressing a security meeting at Hindi, Ruto tasked the Lamu County security team led by Lamu County Commissioner Njenga Mirii to ensure tough security measures.

Ruto at the same time ordered top security officials from Nairobi to travel to Lamu and Tana River County to help with the investigations until normalcy returns.

The Deputy President assured the residents that ample security officers had been deployed in the area for patrols and security enhancement.

Ruto however warned that intelligence reports indicated of an intended attack in Likoni, Mtwapa.

He further warned that attempts by criminals and its collaborators to destabilize the government would fail miserably.

“We will not accept a few individuals to make the country ungovernable. We will do everything to defeat them,”he added.

The Tana River County Governor Hussein Dadho also urged the residents to report any suspicious activity to the authorities in order to defeat the criminals.
