Ruto on charm offensive, returns to Kambi ya Kuku

Deputy President William Ruto launched a chicken auction at Kamagut, Uasin Gishu county, the place that he once earned his keep selling chicken.

Speaking at Kambi Kuku on Saturday, the DP said he would lend his support to youth doing the same business.

“The farmers will make use of a slaughter house and cold store rooms that will ensure chicken is fresh and safe for human consumption,” he said at the auction that raised Ksh. 6million.

According to him, the move will help get rid of middlemen who are known to exploit them. He said the initiative is one of the agendas on Jubilee’s four pillars.

Mr. Ruto later visited Cheptingting Village in Nandi Hills Constituency, where he urged local police to step up security of Kenyans in the area.

Security should not be a challenge because there is a surplus of officers in the country, he said while addressing mourners at the burial ceremony of Mzee Benjamin Kipkemboi Koech.

The late Mzee Koech was father to Emmanuel Kipkorir Talam who works in the DP’s communication team.
