Ruto rubbishes NASA as a power-hungry coalition

Deputy President William Ruto has faulted the opposition National Super Alliance (NASA) over an alleged plan to amend the constitution, if elected to power, in order to accommodate its ‘unsettled’ leaders into the government.

Ruto said that the opposition cannot be trusted to run the country’s affairs while its leaders have failed to agree on who among the four of them to carry the presidential flag.

Speaking at a campaign tour of Kakamrga County, the deputy president challenged NASA top leadership to develop an agenda instead of always attacking the government’s development record.

Ruto claimed that Jubilee administration has in the past four years performed way much better than the opposition leaders managed in their decades in power.

He enumerated Jubilees development milestones in establishing free maternity care, the Standard Gauge Railway, and expanded electricity connectivity among others.

He welcomed NASA leaders to his Eldoret backyard where the opposition leaders held their maiden rally but warned them against hate speech and incitement.

His sentiments were echoed by Water Cabinet Secretary, Eugene Wamalwa, who advised Kakamega residents to ditch the opposition for Jubilee in honor of their late Member of Parliament, Soita Shitanda.

Wamalwa branded the opposition as a power hungry faction claiming they only plan to engage in playing power politics.
