Video: Ruto takes on deputy governors in Kakamega

Deputy President William Ruto has said the job of deputy is not easy as one has to put aside political ambitions.

“As a deputy myself I have some advice for my colleagues–Deputy Governors–it is a difficult job, you have to balance between your ambition and serving your boss,” he told the delegates who responded with a round of applause.

According to Mr. Ruto, deputies are a critical component of leadership and supporting the bosses should not be seen as a sign of weakness.

Earlier, the DP cautioned the Governors against wasting county resources and called for greater accountability.

The DP is in Kakamega for the governors’ conference that ends on Thursday.
